Peony flowers have flowers blooming in winter and spring.
Because flowers fall by the weight of the snow, peony flowers which blooms in winter will fall, so we will create an enclosure to guard and protect the flowers.
Winter peony which is vulnerable to changes in the environment and does not readily bloom was regarded as good luck if it blooms neatly and has been treasured.
It is said that the peony grown with boosting technology of gardening is called "Hyakka no Oh (百花の王: the King of all Flowers)".
You can enjoy the pretty and gorgeous flowers in the historical premises.

Amazing. Just get there before all the tourists come back. Had place to ourselves. Was Sunday and this is in the middle of Tokyo. A silver lining in this pandemic. A national treasure almost 400 years old. Not to be missed.

This is one of the first shrines I visited during my maiden voyage to Japan. These shrines hold a special place in my heart and I do my best to say hello to them every time I visit.
I also try to buy an omamori when I visit. Visit at around 9:00/10:00 AM to catch the shrine priestesses manning the shrine store and purchase the 'omamori'.

A small but beautiful shrine with the main building having a gold plating adding to its beauty. Set in a peaceful garden with a zoo next to it, gives one lots of sight seeing opportunities.

Well worth a visit even though there wasn’t any flowers really out. It’s a quiet and peaceful place and found the whole area somewhere to just chill out and soak up Japan. A photographers dream.
Wheelchair accessible and stroller friendly. Kids will enjoy this place as well. Really enjoyed the surrounding temple, the copper lanterns and all the beautiful offerings. The shrine was stunning and spent nearly an hour here.
