Pink and white 3,000 vivid azaleas are in bloom !
Nezu Shrine is located near Ueno Park, and one of the oldest shrines in Japan. The shrine is surrounded by lush greenery and famous for its beautiful pond and the tunnel of lined-up torii gates.

Approximately 100 kinds of 3,000 azaleas are in full bloom over an acre and a half garden, and the blooming period is very long because of its varieties.
This is one of Tokyo's most spectacular spring scenes. You shouldn't miss it!

Some events are scheduled such as taiko(Japanese drumming) performance, dance entertainment, and traditional songs.
Also, there will be small food stalls and a small market selling pot plants and antique items.

I came to visit a bit late, the azaleas were past their peak and were all kinda green which was really sad. The layout of the garden's really beautiful though, and I assume it would be awesome when the azaleas are in full bloom. It's also located in Tokyo so getting there's easy enough. A very beautiful shrine to visit.

If you're available to go in April, the azalea garden (¥200) makes it even more picturesque. The shrine, torii gates, and koi pond conjure up what I think of as traditional Japan. It's a nice little oasis in the middle of the city. I'd recommend 30-45 minutes to walk around, take pictures, and enjoy.

This is one of the most famous Shrine in Tokyo. When you visit there in spring, you can enjoy very beautiful azalea (in Japanese "Tsutsuji").

Cute and nice. When I first came here there was a traditional Japanese drum show which was cool and exciting. Nice atmosphere and it is usually crowded. There’s a food festival there too.
