Don’t let the 400 stairs scare you off! This is a place you don’t want to miss. It takes you about 800m or about 10 min walk from the closest train station. You can also drive up to the half of the mountain. The walk path from train station to the pagoda pave with a picture of this pagoda to lead you the way. Recommend you to check weather before coming here. I came here in winter which I still see the pagoda with a foggy Mt. Fuji bit no Sakura flower. Yet, the scene is beautiful and pause your day for a while. On the way up, there is a food stand available in case you are hungry. Also, restroom available close to this food stand or another one on the top. A sacred fountain is also a good stop before claiming up for the view. Nice place.

Great view over the city (and if the weather is good) you can see Mount Fuji. Good hiking trail as well.

A very nice place for viewing and taking pictures of Mt. Fuji. Of course you need luck to be on your side to get a bright and clear view of Fuji, without clouds. There is a shrine and a pagoda dedicated to the soldiers who laid down their lives for their country in all the wars. There are steps (398) or a pathway as well to reach the pagoda. Either of these could be slightly tiresome for elderly visitors. The are rest rooms here and there is a free parking lot with enough space. Can spend an hour here. About a 90-120 mins drive from Tokyo on the Chuo Expressway. Toll about 2000 one way. Enjoy and visit on a bright sunny day.

A great view on Fuji san. However the park and shrine are very limited and there is nothing else to do around.
