Plum blossom(Ume) is a special flower for Japanese that tells people spring is just around the corner.
Why don't you visit "Mito Plum Blossom Festival" at "Kairakuen" which is one of the three great gardens in Japan?

"Kairakuen" is the large garden which was built in 1842 by the local lord Tokugawa Nariaki with 3,000 trees of around 100 varieties of plum blossoms. Kairakuen means "park to be enjoyed together".

Viewing plum blossoms is not the only fun to be had.
You can also enjoy other events such as "Nodate(outdoor green tea ceremony)", the photo session with Mito Komon, and Taiko(Japanese drum) performance.

A venerable, and historic, traditional Japanese garden.

Pleasant place for a stroll with a date on a bright Autumn afternoon.

Visit the great Albino stone with its natural cold-water spring.

A spacious park with various kind of trees. You can enjoy the park every season. I came here in autumn, taken a lot of pictures besides gingko trees line. You can see the foliage from November to early December.

Beautiful, despite the summer heat it was nice to be outside for a walk, shade from the trees and a breeze made it pleasant. This park is famous for its scenic views year round and plum blossoms in spring. I like to go down for a walk around Senba lake when I visit Kairakuen. It's very peaceful due to the natural beauty, it's a calming place to reflect.

I think this place would be extremely gorgeous in spring. Nonetheless it is beautiful in November, too.

1of Japan's 3 most famous gardens, Kairakuen is known for its glorious plum blossoms, but at any time of year is lovely with its picturesque lake, Tokugawa shogun residence and walkways through endless tranquil vistas: escape the city in an instant.
