Historical sites..... there are wild monkeys running around as well. Jumping on roofs like ninjas. I would say take advantage of the ¥500 yen rent a costume to take some photo memories back with you. The historical videos are great with English captions. Just a great experience seeing old Japanese castle and village.

Recently remodeled Tower building with a nice layout and route that guides you through the very rich history of this Castle and the importance it played in the region. English translations for most of the exhibits and a few short movies to help you out! Grounds not too big, but big enough to make a nice afternoon day trip. Complete with a train ride and electric car rides for the kids when you're done. Highly recommended, only a couple hours from Tokyo!

Cool historical landmark. Beautiful inside the castle courtyards; there are even some monkeys to see. Cool place for taking some nice pictures. Only ¥500 yen to get in, and there are some interesting artifacts to check out. If you like history, would recommend, but even as someone who isn't a history buff, I still enjoyed it. On the top floor, you are also able to walk around on a balcony and see the water and city.

If you’re looking for a place to check out some Japanese history in a beautiful setting and beat the crowds, this is the spot for you! We couldn’t go into the castle or some of the areas because of the COVID-19 state of emergency but once it is lifted it will be back to normal again.

Beautiful fall colors. Going up the castle was a great experience. The outside was scenic as well.
