Mar/23 - Apr/28/2019 Cherry Blossom Viewing in Inokashira Park3.4
from 3/23 '19 to 4/28 '19
Inokashira Park is one of the most popular spots to see Sakura cherry blossoms in Tokyo. The park is located in Kichijoji area, 20 mins by train from Shinjuku Sta.
Inokashira Park has rich nature and relaxing atmosphere. There is a large pond in the park, and you can rent a boat and enjoy paddling on the pond surrounded by pink cherry blossoms. About 500 cherry trees are planted in the park and 300 trees are around the pond.
Many varieties of cherry trees such as Somei-Yoshino, or Yae-Zakura are planted in the park and can be enjoyed from early-March till late-April. Sakura's reflection on the surface of the pond is simply fantastic and breathtaking.
In addition, the cherry trees are illuminated at night, it creates a mysterious yet beautiful scenery.
During the season, the park is really crowded with people who enjoy Hanami(spread out the picnic sheet under the cherry trees and eat and drink),so it's bustling and lively all the day long.
Kichijoji area is also home to the Ghibli Museum close to the Inokashira Park, and many stylish cafes and shops are there. You would never get bored to spend your free time!

Very nice park away from the busy streets of Kichijoji! I see a lot of people walking with their dogs, running or just sitting on benches. It's a really nice park with a nice view of a large pond. You can rent a boat and row. There's also a small temple in the middle of the park. A nice Thai restaurant is also situated at the center of the park. Very nice park with lots of trees. Best season would be spring (to view cherry blossom) or fall (foliage).

One of my favourite spots in the city, even when it gets busy on weekends it never feels crowded. Offers a lovely space to stroll and enjoy the scenery. Good for dog watching and enjoying the small market stalls selling hand crafted goods on weekends.

Beautiful park, great to take a walk in nature and relax. Just don't go to the Zoo because this is where they kept a poor elephant all alone for many decades in a tiny cage, until she went mad and recently died. Just enjoy watching the ducks and birds in the wild, as they should be!

Great park, plenty of opportunity to have coffee around here. Worth visiting with the kids, there is a zoo, row boats, playgrounds, etc

Beautiful park with a small lake and zoo. Rowboats and swan boats are available at the lake entrance. Boats are available from 9:30 to 16:30 during winter. It was a really nice experience!
