Inokashira Park is one of the most popular spots to see Sakura cherry blossoms in Tokyo. The park is located in Kichijoji area, 20 mins by train from Shinjuku Sta.
Inokashira Park has rich nature and relaxing atmosphere. There is a large pond in the park, and you can rent a boat and enjoy paddling on the pond surrounded by pink cherry blossoms. About 500 cherry trees are planted in the park and 300 trees are around the pond.
Many varieties of cherry trees such as Somei-Yoshino, or Yae-Zakura are planted in the park and can be enjoyed from early-March till late-April. Sakura's reflection on the surface of the pond is simply fantastic and breathtaking.
In addition, the cherry trees are illuminated at night, it creates a mysterious yet beautiful scenery.
During the season, the park is really crowded with people who enjoy Hanami(spread out the picnic sheet under the cherry trees and eat and drink),so it's bustling and lively all the day long.
Kichijoji area is also home to the Ghibli Museum close to the Inokashira Park, and many stylish cafes and shops are there. You would never get bored to spend your free time!

Absolutely beautiful park. There were a lot of amenities there, including a zoo, sports areas, a lovely pond with bridges over it and swan boats that can be rented to go out onto the water. If you're already in the area (for the Ghibli museum) then you should absolutely go for a walk in this park. You'll get some great pictures and have a lovely time.

Arguably the best park in Tokyo, very well maintained. During weekend, the park is very happening with locals, within the park there are plenty of spot to hang around, relaxing with a cup of coffee. The busy walking street towards the train station has many to offer, worth to check out,

The park is connected to Ghibli’s museum, good to allow some time strolling while visiting the museum.

Vast suburban garden for families and nature appreciation.

The park itself is large. Lots of tall trees and paved paths for strolling and enjoying outdoor air. Next to it is a zoo for families.

In autumn, the weather is nice and the foliage is nice and golden.

One of the best parks in Japan. Especially beautiful during the autumn season 🍁 There are places to eat, drink and you can rent a boat for the pond. The only thing missing are English signs for foreigners.

I went here during my lunch break for a stroll on the park and was very impressed with how nice it was.

There are pedal boats, cafes, a stage area, and lots of great places to take photos.

Plus it wasn’t overly crowded.

Pros:
- Great date spot
- Japanese temple
- Cafes
- They do sell beer in the park if you drink
- Lots of trails and paths
- Open space and stage area for performances

Cons:
- Bugs, you should bring or wear insect repellent
