Since we went to visit the park right after peak flower season, it was pleasantly not crowded so we got to see the whole park. You should definitely rent a bike for a very small fee, to experience the enormous size of the park, as I can not imagine walking through the whole place!
One of the highlights was the nice hill you can walk up to see the ocean and view. Also the tandem bikes are a great couple distraction. Since we went on a very sunny day the view was just beautiful! Highly recommended if you love nature and want to leave the city behind

Hope to visit again in four different seasons. The park is so big with huge garden, food counter, camp site and playground. I liked the meat skewers counter, the meat was very juice and tasty, charcoal grill, unforgettable. Luckily we were visiting under great weather at October, not too cold yet. I would bring camera or go-pro for my next visit.

Totally worth it. A great day trip for people who wants to escape Tokyo crowds. You can rent bikes so you can ride through whole park within few hours. It's 500 yen for whole day for one bike. You can buy combined ticket when you get off the JR station- two way ticket for a bus which will take you straight to the Park + entrance ticket for 1080 Yen.

An essential visit if you are in the Ibaraki prefecture. The nemophilia hills in particular, are spectacular! There are also many cycle paths that take you through the beautiful forest areas if you are feeling adventurous.
