Yoshiwara Gion Festival is one of the most popular festivals in Fuji city, Shizuoka prefecture. It has 350 years history and called "Otenno-san" by locals.

On the first day of the festival, from 1:00PM, decorated floats start to parade through Yoshiwara Shopping Street, accompanied by lively music and cheering. Then from 3PM, the portable shrines carried by only women parade around Yoshiwara-honcho Station. Besides, Miya-Taiko drum performances are held from 4PM on Yoshiwara-honcho street.

On the second day, the highlight is the "mikoshi(portable shrines) fighting" from 3PM, banging against each other as if fighting. And 21 decorated floats as well as mikoshi portable shrines are paraded through the shopping street during 6PM - 9PM. It's so energetic and exciting! Besides, you can enjoy collecting red ink stamps of some temples, or eat-and-walk at a number of food stalls along the street.
