Odawara Castle, known as the "700 Great Japanese castle", is a sightseeing spot where you can enjoy plums in winter, cherry blossoms in spring, and flowers of different seasons.
About 2,500 shares of hydrangeas and about 7,000 shares of irises blossom, it is a perfect place for the flower viewing during rainy season.
In the evening, you can watch fantastic flowers different from daytime by illuminating.
Iris and Hydrangea Festival at Odawara Castle
Dates: June 1(Sat) - June 15(Sat)
Place: Honmaru East Moat, Iris Garden
Only Saturday and Sunday during the Festival, it is opened until 19:00(final admission is 18:30).
During the festival, "AKARI NIGHT"(about 200 lanterns are lit up), and Taiko(Japanese drum) Performance are scheduled.
Access: about 10-min walk from Odawara Station
