Loved the country and this village in particular. Interesting construction and history. Had the opportunity to dine with a local family. Family was here for 6 generations. Food was excellent. Dining is an art, many rules and rituals involved. All revere their and respect their elders.

A great place for a morning walk with a great view of mountains and traditional village houses. Stop by the little food stalls as you walked around the village and be surprise with the great taste they offer. Go up the observation deck for a top down view of the whole village.

A must visit place! This small village's houses are very unique, the material the use to build the house are all from nature. As they still burnt wood for heating in the winter, houses are easily caught fire. Therefore, there's a small drain that runs through the front of every house.

The postcards and photos can't quite prepare you for how breathtaking the whole village is. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is worth a visit. If you can, skip the tours, which only allot an hour, and go to the village yourself by bus so you can take your time to explore. The best time to visit is in the autumn, IMO.
