Showa Memorial Park (Showa Kinen Park) is a park in the city of Tachikawa, located western part of Tokyo. It is the largest park in Tokyo with 1,653,000 square meters and famous for its huge flower field. Here is famous as viewing spot of cherry blossom in spring and cosmos flowers in autumn.
Between middle-September and early-November, about 6 million cosmos flowers bloom in 20,000 square meters of fields. About 30 different types of cosmos bloom gradually for having each blooming period.
Yellow Cosmos(Kibana Cosmos) bloom during mid-September and early-October. And you can experience to pick up Kibana Cosmos on Sept.29th.
During the festival season, there are various fun events such as Marching Parade by U.S. Army Brass Band, craft workshop, rice harvesting experience, and more.
