Huis Ten Bosch is located in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyusyu Island. It is called "small Europe" which models Holland in the Middle Ages with beautiful canal, attractions, museum, shops, restaurants, and hotels. And it is especially known as one of the biggest theme park in Japan for its Flower Festival and its gorgeous illumination show.
Between Oct.5 and May 6, the largest illumination show "Kingdom Of Light", made from over 13 million lightbulbs takes place at Huis Ten Bosch. "Kingdom of Light" is crowned to be No.1 in "National Illumination Ranking of General Entertainment Category" for the consecutive 5 years since 2013.
One of the main attractions is "Water Magic", which is a spectacular and colorful water show with the 85-meter tall fountains featuring lights and music. Another highlight is "Tree of Light Sky", which is a gorgeous light show with a 30-meter tall tree. It is like a tree coming down from the sky!
Come and enjoy the most spectacle and dramatic winter illumination in the world!

Visited via Fukuoka. Worth a visit for half a day if nothing else to do, pricey for what it is. More of a nice pseudo-Dutch/European 'getaway', less of a theme park. Night time festivities look a lot more worthwhile, but would either need to drive or stay at a hotel on-site as last train to Fukuoka is at 4-5pm.

Disney Land or Universal Studios in Tokyo and Osaka more worthwhile despite longer queues.

It is one of the best attractions in Kyushu. There is nothing new for you if you stayed in or travelled Europe. But it was amazing for me to see the European cities in Japan. The rides were few and not very exceptional. If you stay at Huis Ten Bosch hotels, you can enjoy full infrastructures.

Definitely a full day worthy trip. I went with the expectation of only spending a couple of hours and ended up closing down the park. Great shows, food and experience overall with a family friendly atmosphere.

This is my first time visiting here and I thoroughly enjoyed the buffet. I went with a group of friends and the food was excellent. Take the time to try the buffet when you have a chance.

Very beautiful place, I came during long weekend so it’s hard to get hotel at that time. I need to find any guest house near Haiki Station (nearest station).
