The shrine and it's surrounding area are beautiful. There is a small park within walking distance that makes for a great resting and photo place. If possible visit shortly before dark if you would like to see the shrines' lanterns lit up.

Yasaka shirine is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Kyoto. I visited the place several times and enjoyed every time. The place is always full of both local and foreign tourists. So, you can easily feel the charms of Kyoto. Anyway, there are hundreds of photogenic location here. Moreover, delicious streets foods are always hot and available!

Nice place to feel a little bit of traditional Japan. I recommend visiting this temple at night - the atmosphere is really stunning. This spot is located close to Gion, so you can always visit both places at once 😉

Kind of a touristy place, but due to its proximity to Gion that kind of goes without saying.

Still a fun place to drop by with friends and family but don't expect much more than a bit of a touristy distraction at elevated prices. Definitely give it a visit with friends for fun though.

One of the main shrine in Kyoto. They have some snack stands after you entered the gate. The snacks is so nice that you'd prob gonna try to buy each of them lol. The Shrine is very nice, with friendly staff and nice view. The area on the shrine is also spacious, allowing more visitors to visit there freely. However, do be mindful that during certain occasion, such as festival, weekends, new year, etc; the place will be crowded. Like, VERY crowded.
