Jishu-Jinja Shrine is the oldest shrine in KYoto for gods of love and relationships. THese gods have been centres of belief since ancient times. Today the shrine attracts visitors not just from Japan, but from all around the world - and is especially popular with those seeking fulfilment through new or renewed relationships. It is located to the north side of the main hall at the Kiyomizu Temple.
On the second Sunday of April, Sakura(Cherry Blossom) Festival is held to cerebrate the beautiful full-bloom cherry blossoms and to bring good relations to those who visit the shrine. It has been believed that gods reside in cherry trees, and the blooming of cherry blossoms is a blessing of the gods.

There are big pagodas, a deep step way to the sacred water fall, the green and antique wooden temples, “love stone “ etc, lots of beauty here you would like to take pictures with. Colorful but beautiful, unique as Japan. There is a sacred waterfall, where you choose to drink from one fountain out of three, and you wish .

Fun shrine to visit right within Kiyomizedera temple. This place is famous for “relationship / love life”. A few things to look out for
1. Love stones - there are two stones within this small shrine. The belief is that if you walk from one to another with your eyes closed, your wish will come true.
2. The 2am-visit tree - there is a big tree at which ladies in the old day come and do a voodoo-like ritual to curse their enemies. You can still see the nail holes.
