Nebuta and Neputa Festival are a type of summer festival held in towns around Aomori Prefecture. "Nebuta" and "Neputa" refer to the enormous lantern float of a brave warrior figure which is carried by people throughout the city with taiko drums, musicians and dancers.
Goshogawara Tachineputa Festival is one of the three greatest Nebuta Festivals in Aomori Prefecture along with Aomori Nebuta Festival and Hirosaki Neputa Festival.
This festival takes place in August every year and features 23-meter tall, 19-ton Nebuta parade floats. At this festival, Tachineputa are conveyed through the city of Goshogawara while float carriers and dancers shout "Yattemare! Yattemare!" Yattemare means "Go get them!"
In addition to the three large Nebuta floats which are regularly exhibited at the Tachineputa Musium, a total of 15 floats of various sizes are featured in the festival.

On August 3, the firework display is held and no Tachineputa parade on this day.
