The Eisa Festival is originated in Okinawa to honor the ancestors and pray for the safety of one's family and economic prosperity.
Performers such as dancers, musicians, and clowns form a big procession and dance through the streets with taiko-drum beats.
About 23 groups with over 1000 performers perform around Shinjuku Station East(Kabukicho) and West exits. The festival attracts about one million spectators.
