Obihiro Heigen(Plain) Festival is one of the largest summer festivals in Tokachi, Hokkaido.
Yumefuruya Parade, portable shrines are carried by men, women and kids throughout the town with taiko-drum music to pray good harvests and prosperity of descendants, is held from 7PM on August 14.
Also, the event which visitors throw wheat into the palanquins, called "Koganeho Nageire", would be much fun.
On August 15, the Heigen Drum Festival is held from 3PM. People in various costumes parade down the street while dancing Bon Dance. You can see gorgeous Dashi floats.
On August 16, selected Awa Dance teams from all over Japan visit here to perform Awa Dance.
