Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine in Fujiyoshida City is the oldest Mt.Fuji Shinto shrine on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi.
On Sept.19 every year, "Yabusame"(Japanese horseback archery) with over 800 year history is performed.
This Yabusame is dedicated to the shrine as an offering to the gods, in which fortunes are told from in the marks left by the hooves of the running horses. It is designed as intangible folk cultural property in Fujiyoshida City.
A parade will take place on September 18, and on September 19th a ritual of cloth changing of the god status will takes place which is held once every 60 years.
