Oct/11 - 14, 2019 Hakata Old Town Light-up Walk3.7
from 10/11 '19 to 10/14 '19
Hakata Old Town is an area that thrived as the heart of Hakata, Japan's largest trading port city. The area is home to countless Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples, and these will be beautifully lit-up as part of the night-time event ― Hakata Old Town Light-up Walk.
A total of 18 sites will be artistically illuminated across four days. It's also an opportunity to enter locations not usually open to the public.
The concept behind the illuminations for 2019 is "Night Museum". Temple and shrines are "arts" by themselves. Being lit up, you would feel like you were in museums. What's more, collaborating with "Art in Hakata Old Town",7 artists from all over the Asia will make new installations in five temples. You may have never seen these arts and light installations in temples before!
