Nov.3, 2019 Hakone Daimyo Gyoretsu (Federal Lord's Procession in Hakone)4.0
from 11/3 '19 to 11/3 '19
Every year on Nov. 3, the Hakone Daimyo Gyoretsu Parade, the federal lord's procession, takes place at the streets of Yumoto in Hakone. The highlight is the procession of about 170 people dressed in samurai, princess, maidservants, and others parading 6 kilometers through the hot spring town. It takes about 4 and half hours. The procession re-enacts the Sankin Kotai processions of the region's Odawara Clan.
In addition, there are also 110 dancers, rikishas, gun fighters, and marching bands parading. In total, about 450 participants join the parade.
The gun-fire demonstration is especially popular for visitors.
And only about 80 visitors are allowed to join the Daimyo Gyoretsu Parade every year, so please apply if you don't want to miss the chance to participate in this spectacle parade.
Besides, the hundreds of festival food stalls are lined up along the Taki-dori Street. Not only watching the parade, you can enjoy Hakone local specialty!
