from 10/19 '19 to 10/20 '19
"Narita String Music Festival" entering the 25th anniversary is the event to celebrate the God of Fire and wishing for prosperity. It is held as "a festival to dedicate music" in October called "autumn of the art".
It is said to the great priest Kancho which is an initiator of the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple was familiar with gagaku(Japanese imperial court music).
In addition, as for "the strand (rope) which the God of the Fire holds in his left hand," it is supposed like "the string" of the musical instrument.
Therefore the music by "the stringed instrument performance" that likened "a strand" of the God of the Fire to "a string" is dedicated to the music in the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, and the tone of various strings is sounded through Omotesando. It is labelled as "a string festival", and the performance of various stringed instruments is sent to the prayer that it is said to have a customer thoroughly enjoy "a string wave is abusive" from "history and traditional Narita that waits, and is connected in the world".
The highlight on Oct.19 is the "Tsugaru Shamisen Concert in Naritasan Shinshoji Temple " by about 200 Shamisen players.
In addition, the special stage is established on the Mt. Narita approach to a shrine, and you can enjoy the live performances such as Tsugaru Shamisen Concert on Saturday, and the String Music Show on Sunday. The show of "Shamisen battle" by the young player performed on Saturday on 19th is must-see.
Furthermore, "the Narita, Monzen variety hall which became annual," the various events including "Tsugaru Shamisen experience corner" and "Narita Dance Parade" are carried out.
You are wrapped in refreshing air of Narita stained with autumnal scenery, and the tone of the stringed instrument is listened to, and you smack the lips in autumn taste, and benefit is given in Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, and please spend a time on a fun holiday.

Absolutely worthwhile experience. We only wish we had of found it sooner rather then on our last day in Japan, oh well, we look forward to returning and enjoying the atmosphere again. The historical value is amazing, take your time as there is plenty to see.

this culturally acclaimed and tenth century Buddhist temple is one of a kind. features so many pagodas and lots of tourists. went there during a layover and had a really good time exploring all it had to offer. and it is so easily accessible from the international airport. if my memory serves me right, anything between 15 and 30 minutes is all it takes to take in this ageless wonder

Beautiful! Only wish I could've checked out Naritasan Park, too. Got to see the fire ceremony at 11a--definitely a MUST! Bring your bag/belongings up during the fire (when everyone else goes) so it can be blessed! Not sure how/why people skip this to go straight to Tokyo... This is something no one will want to miss!!

This place is a great way to spend an afternoon. It’s a blend of new construction with centuries old structures and artifacts. There is a service at 11 am that you can attend plus a myriad of paths and trails to wander around between the temples and lakes.
