Bettara-ichi Pickle Fair at Nihonbashi,Tokyo is a traditional festival dates back to Edo Period.
There are over 500 stalls selling bettara-zuke(pickled daikon radish) and other local foods near the Takarada Ebisu Shrine for 2 days in mid-October. It attracts about 100,000 people each year.
On October 19, Mikoshi portable shrines parade throughout the town, and on the 20th, Bettara-ondo make an addition to the excitement. At night, a big paper lantern in front of Takarada Ebisu Shrine along with more than 1,500 lanterns in the neighborhood will be lit, and bring people together for its unique night festival atmosphere.
