Ohara Festival is a dance festival held at Tenmonkan in downtown Kagoshima, and it is one of the biggest festivals in southern Kyushu. This year, the festival takes place to commemorate the 130th anniversary of Kagoshima City.
Approximately 20,000 dancers dance in unison to traditional music such as the Ohara-bushi (a popular tune of Kagoshima) and the likes. Also, you can enjoy watching a taiko drum performance, a traditional performing art, and a parade of marching bands.
Venue : Higashi-sengoku-cho, Kagoshima City (around Tenmonkan)
