Although it is called a lantern festival, you can enjoy a lot of various illuminations. The food is also delicious.

It's expensive, cold, and there is no rest area.

An event of self-satisfaction that is not kind at all.

I don't recommend it.

I visited Yonezawa the day before the Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival. Everyone, including high school students, was busy at the final preparation. Unfortunately, I went back to Tokyo without watching the festival performance, but I could imagine a fantastic image.
Next time I would like to visit Yonezawa by all means according to the festival.

It seems that it is difficult to make snow lanterns as the amount of snowfall decreases year by year. Is it the influence of global warming?
Many are made from Uesugi Shrine up to the Dynasty of the nationalities, and there are hundreds of small lanterns before the Dynasty of the country. Thousands? What? That lantern? (This is lighting candle in the cup) is out and it is beautiful ♪
In the snow lantern there are also nameplates of creators (companies, schools, organizations, etc.), and I enjoy it while seeing it as well ♪
Ice sculptures are also lined up in the forest of the Dynasty's Du, and you can see amazing techniques!
The snow lantern basket after the lighting ceremony in the evening is awesome and must-see ♪ ♪
There are also some lanterns and some small lights on the road along the way to head here, Yonezawa Uniform seems to shine beautifully ♪
Even if you see the candle's fire it will be healed ◎
