"Yuki-touro", Snow Light Path, is the annual winter event held at Jozankei Shrine in Sapporo City, Hokkaido.
Approximately 2,000 candles in garden lanterns made of snow, create a fantastic world in the shrine in the hot spring village. One of the popular things to do is "flames of wishes"（500yen,but not held on in 2021）― if you light a candle and are able to carry it to the snow tower without going it out, your wish will come true.
During the festival period, free shuttle buses run between the venue and Jozankei Onsen Town every 20 mins.
Enjoy viewing Snow Light Path, and warm your body with hot spring bath!

A quiet, small but beautiful shrine. Some gold, wood and cloth pieces are displayed, the vibe is local and peaceful.

Would definitely recommend If you are already in Jozenjai, but doesn't justify going there just for the shrine.

Takes 15-30 minutes.
There are a lot of other smaller shrines you can walk to, and there is a 1-1.5 hour walking trail in nature that starts from the shrine, very much recommended at fall.

Beautiful area when lanterns are lit. There is a little cafe located near the entrance where one can get marshmallows, beverages. Do be careful while walking around at night because they don't have great lighting.
