Yesterday, I went to theTōka Ebisu Matsuri, it was held at the Ebisu shrine and Yasaka shrine in Kyoto. Ebisu is a patron deity of fishermen but also of merchants. People buy lucky charms and dispose last year’s ones for burning. It’s all part of “New Year's Pilgrimage of Prayer” in the month of January to visit the “seven deities of good fortune” that will bring prosperity for the New-Year.
