Nada Fighting Festival is an autumn festival held annually in October at Matsubara-Hachiman Shrine in Himeji City. This festival is one of the most popular fighting festivals in Japan.
The highlight of the festival is the 3 mikoshi(portable shrine)'s "fighting" and the 7 festival floats' parade throughout the town. Mikoshi shrines carried by half-naked men strike each other as bumping and jostling, and that battle scene is super intense!
Nada Fighting Festival is designated as an important intangible folk cultural property and has become known throughout the country as well as overseas.
