LINEで送る

I'm a professional tour guide and a professional hire driver at the same time. That's why I can offer you a bargain tour. Firstly, we go to Nikko, The World Heritage Site. I can give you a ride from Tokyo 23 Wards. But in case you are traveling through Japan with 'Japan Railway Pass', it is wise of you going to Utsunomiya Station, in which I wait you. It cuts your cost further. Anyway after arriving Nikko, we visit Tosho-gu-Shrine, and Kanman-ga-fuchi Abiss if you like. Then we enjoy Japanese buck wheat noodles as our lunch. And then, we choose 1course out of 3 plans for the second term's excursion as follows. ① Edo Wonderland Visit, which is suitable for family travelers. Because lots of Edo Era's attractions (1603-1867) never let children get tired. ② Nikko National Park Visit, which is a root for Kegon Fall and Lake Chuzenji by way of Iroha Slope. Greenery season in spring and during the time of fallen leaves in autumn are definitely good. ③ Mashiko Pottery Town Visit,
where we can see a climbing kiln and artificial works. If you are interested in earthenware, it should be a few chances in your life to learn. Then we go back to Tokyo, or Utsunomiya Station.

This shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, has an extraordinary grandeur with imposing architectural beauty. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, the compound hosts 55 structures including 8 National Treasures and 34 Important Cultural Properties. This is a very popular destination and is also considered a power spot where you can experience positive energy.

All the architectures, created by top-notch carpenters, craftsmen and wood-carvers from all over the country, show the extravagant beauty with gilded and lacquered ornate carvings in the early Edo period. The renowned Yomeimon Gate is the most ornate structure here and is dubbed the 'Sunset Gate', as it is said people never get tired of view this gate until sunset.

Other highlights include the elaborate wood carvings of sleeping cats and of three monkeys with each representing 'see no evil', 'speak no evil' and 'hear no evil' characteristics. You will find many other artworks that reflect wisdom and philosophy of the era.

This shrine is a real breath-taking and magnificient structure in every aspect. Although it is the Shinto shrine, there exists five-story pagoda, Buddhist building, in its precincts due to syncretism of Shinto and Buddhism.

Let us know how powerful and wealthy the Shogun Tokugawa was through the visit on Nikko Toshogu Shrine

Among some 50 beautiful waterfalls in Nikko, this waterfall is the most famous and considered one of top three waterfalls in Japan. The 97m-high waterfall is the only outlet flowing out of Lake Chuzenji and is flanked by a dozen or so of small streams. There is a free observation deck near the car park to get a glimpse, or you can spend the extra yen for an elevator ride down to the viewing deck in front of the waterfall base.

The view is stunning in lush green of early summer or vibrant colors of autumn foliage. Prepare something to cover as the area is very cool even in the height of summer. The nearby cable car takes you to the top of a hill where there is a bird's eye view of the lake, the waterfall and some downstream cascades.

Lake Chuzenji, located in the highland 15km west of Nikko, is among the highest lakes in Japan. The lake was created about 20,000 years ago when an eruption of the adjacent Mount Nantai (2486m) blocked the valley below. The area is mostly undeveloped except for the lake's eastern shores, where there is a hot spring resort with summer villas.

In 1878, a British traveler and writer Isabella Bird visited here and admired the views of this lake and Mount Nantai. Since then, this area became a summer retreat for European diplomats, and the former Italian villa is now open to the public. Other attractions include fishing, cruise boats and trekking around the lake. Kegon Waterfall is within a short distance.
