This shopping street, 1km inland from the port of Yokohama, is a mix of the new and old of establishments. In the 1.5km-long street, there are some old stores dating from the late 19th century, which mingle with modern buildings. The area has a touch of Western elegance and Eastern exoticism combined, making you feel a little romantic and laid-back.

Passing under the welcome gate, you will enjoy the bright atmosphere of the street, occasionally hearing chirping of birds. There are a wide variety of shops, from high-end to low-budget. This is worth a visit just to amble through and poke in some souvenir shops.
