The sprawling Osaka City can be viewed from the top of the Umeda Sky Building, a futuristic twin-tower complex located at the center of the Kita district of Osaka. Affectionately dubbed "Arc de Triomphe of Osaka", the 170 meter-high complex has an 360-degree observatory at the top.

The observation deck, selected as one of the 100 most beautiful sunset-watching spots in Japan, is also a place to marvel at million-dollar night views. The restaurants and cafes on the 40th floor offer relaxation with good views. To take home a lasting moment of Osaka experience, drop in at souvenir shops on the 39th floor.

Open air, open air, open air view. The outdoor element improves the experience by a large margin. We also can stay there however long we want...with a reasonably priced cafe at lower level that has enough seats covering roughly two different perspective.

Recommend checking out golden hours of the day and chill through sunset given you have enough time.

Note: there was a minor line when I visited, probably just for safety in confined spaces.

It was definitely a breathtaking moment to watch sunset at the rooftop of Umeda Sky Building. We went on Dec 31st at about 450pm. There is a long queue to get into the elevator but we only waited for 15min. We didn’t manage to see the whole process of sunset. However, the post sunset scene was even better. What I like most is not only the view but also the classic music background that made the ambience even more enjoyable!

Stunning 360 view of beautiful urban Osaka. Rooftop offers nice place to send the last rays of day light and see amazing sunset. After sunset offers beautiful view of city lights. Easy access although can get a bit busy around sunset. Escalators in the 'sky tunnels' when getting down from the rooftop are amazing. Worth visiting.

A spectacular building and on a good day, spectacular views as the surrounding area is flat.

Been there in summer and winter. Enjoyed it both times.

At $15 or so, it’s good value for visiting such a unique building.

While the views are better in summer, in winter there’s a Christmas Market at the base, so if that’s your thing, better to visit any time after Nov 1.

I’ve been with a couple of different groups and everyone has enjoyed the trip.

Amazing 360 degree view in the top floor. The sunset at the top is simply great. But the most scary part could be the escalators across the buildings at the top. BTW, traveling with a Kansei pass allows free entry. A 15 minutes walk from the subway station is required.

Since I was born and grew up in Osaka, I know this spot well. By the way, there are many other tourists spots in Osaka City, such as Dotombori, Shinsaibashi and Osaka castle. I can also guide these spots. Please visit Osaka!
