Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway (Kawaguchiko Fuji-san Panorama Ropeway)3.9
Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway (former Mt.Kachi Kachi Ropeway), taking about 3minutes, connects the lakeside Kawaguchikohan station (altitude of 856 meters) and the Fujimidai station (altitude 1075 meters) which is located on the top of Mt. Tenjo-san in Kawaguchikomachi Town, Yamanashi Prefecture. From the observatory on the mountain, you can admire a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi-ko in front of you. As Mt. Tenjo-san is a mountain that became the stage of a Japanese fairy tale, Kachi-kachi Yama (Fire-crackle mountain) in which a villain tanuki (Japanese raccoon dog) was punished by setting fire to the kindling on its back, there are statues of the raccoon and the rabbit from the story around the station. There is also a bell with a heart-shaped motif on the observation deck.

Really great experience climbing the ropeway.
At the top, you can get ice cream/food, check out the gift shop, ring a lovers bell, pray at a rabbit/bunny shrine, have a fantastic view of Mouth Fuji and the city, climb higher to a second observatory..
I'd highly recommend the experience for first timers in the area.

Able to take our dogs up the rope way in an enclosed carrier. View of Mt Fuji was spectacular and worth the ride up. Up there the area is small, there is a gift shop and cafe. But for the view alone it was worth it.
Free car park across the road along the lake.

If you get a coupon at the visitor booth at kawaguchi station you can save money on your ticket. There's 2 cars running back and forth, the ride is about 3 minutes one way, moves quick.
Once you're up there the views are awesome. There's a gift shop and snack shop as well. I think the best view is actually on the top of the store. The swings are under construction 🚧 and off limits.

This is a fun little adventure. It's a short cable ride but with good views of the lake. We did the one way ticket since there is a pretty trail from the top and it's a rather pleasant downhill walk. The observation deck had the usual awesome views of Fuji and the rabbit shrine is fun. You can also connect to a much wider trail network if you have time.
