Shibayamagata is a lagoon with a perimeter of about 7km (4.3 miles) which is located in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It changes its color of the surface seven times a day according to the change of sunlight. In the middle of the lake there is a large fountain that blows up to 70 meters (230 feet) high, and on the lakeside there is a floating hall, Ukiuki Benten, which was built for the legendary dragon and the misterious girl. The sacred mountain, Mt. Haku-san, can be viewed from the lagoon. On the shore of the lake there is Katayamazu Onsen, which is a famous hot spring in Japan as one of those in the Kaga Onsen-go (hot spring area in Kaga or Ishikawa Prefecture). The spring quality is sodium and calcium chloride spring and it keeps you warm and is effective for the poor circulation which is common in females. You can enjoy the pleasant spa viewing the beautiful lake which changes its color. There is the annual Firework Festival throughout August and they launch 200 fireworks every night on the surface of the lake during the month.

The lake itself is normal. The view is spectacular except from the window of the accommodation facility at Katayamazu Onsen. However, it varies depending on the season. Fireworks go up in summer.
Looking at the old map, it seems that it was twice as large as the current lake. Where there are rice fields and factories on the north side, it is a reclaimed land. If it remains the same as before, it can be imagined as a spacious Shibayamagata.
Is it a place name that still has that remnant? When nature is destroyed, it never returns. I presume that this area was reclaimed as needed, and I think it's a trend of the times, but personally it's a shame.
The scenic atmosphere of Katayamazu Onsen is this Shibayamagata! In spring, summer, autumn and winter, you may not only watch it, but also become a mecca for fishing! ️
