In front of Kurobe-daira Station of the Tateyama Ropeway spreads a small manicured tableland. From this terrace at 1828m, you can look down at Lake Kurobe in the east and throw your head back to view the Tateyama Mountain Range in the west. The 1.7km-long ropeway, which whisks you up to Dairenbo, is Japan's longest one-span type without support tower in the middle.
The tableland is a photogenic point with an observation deck with benches to relax on. There is also an alpine botanical garden to take a glimpse at a wide variety of wild plants. From Lake Kurobe, it takes 15 to 20 minutes on foot climbing a 600m slope uphill.
