World Heritage: Kofukuji Temple4.4
This temple was founded in 710, the same time the capital of Nara was established. The temple is famous for its 50m-high five-story pagoda, the country's second tallest following that of Toji Temple in Kyoto. In the precincts is recently renovated National Treasure Museum that display the temple's Buddhist art collection. A three-faced, six-armed statue of Ashura is very imposing. This is the nearest sight from Nara stations.

Lovely park with sacred deer. Revered by the Shinto religion of old, you can feed these deer and they are social and friendly.
It's best not to let the deer group together as you feed them, they'll become competitive and aggressive. The deer will nip you if they smell good ok you and you don't give it up.

Nice temple and it's probably the first temple you will see if you come from Nara Kinetsu station. Some temples would require a minimal fee to enter. You could also join the ritual and ring the temple bell. Overall a good experience in the temple and had fun walking around learning the culture.

Oh deer, all the deer. They are kinda like a cross between a deer and a goat. Don't do the crackers, it's just way too touristy and if you don't give them up right away they start to charge you. Also, they aren't the cleanest animals either. The temples were cool and the view of Nara. Definitely have to do it, just don't get head butted by a deer.

Less crowd compared to Todaiji temple but less small.
An old beautiful temple with Pagoda by the side great spot for taking picture.
Do you know that in this Nara Park, you can always find a Bathrooms near the primary locations, it is a good way to comfy the tourist. Bravo Japan.
