World Heritage: Kofukuji Temple4.4
This temple was founded in 710, the same time the capital of Nara was established. The temple is famous for its 50m-high five-story pagoda, the country's second tallest following that of Toji Temple in Kyoto. In the precincts is recently renovated National Treasure Museum that display the temple's Buddhist art collection. A three-faced, six-armed statue of Ashura is very imposing. This is the nearest sight from Nara stations.

Nice place to walk and see the nature. The place surely preserved in a nice way.
Just walk and release your stress. Clear sky, nice shrines, nice weather.. just feels great..

500 yen per adult person to get in. The Buddha statue was impressive, but there wasn't really anything else to look at within the gate. A few smaller statue's were also in the temple but the whole experience was completed within 5 minutes. If you've got extra time it's worth seeing, but you're not missing out if you have to skip this activity.

The buildings look nice, in the main temple there are a lot of historical statues from different periods and with different sizes, you can also take a brochure inside the temple that contains information about each statue. Taking photos inside is prohibited.

Gorgeous area and definitely a must see when visiting Nara. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain the day we visited but on a clear day this must be spectacular.

Very nice area that is expansive enough to support a lot of people at once. The gift stores have really nice charms and trinkets that are fairly reasonable and include a tile you can purchase to "donate" towards the reconstruction of the buildings.
It's just a very short walk up from the deer Park once you've had your fill feeding them biscuits and getting attacked by them lol! ( Or maybe that was just me)
