Doro Gorge Cruise4.1
Doro Gorge, in the upstream of the Kitayama River, offers a various forms of cruising adventure. The most exciting is 1-hour rafting to flow an area of 6km downstream with a raftsman maneuvering only with a single pole (reservation required). You will stand on a traditional raft, gripping the railings, and may scream as it dives into white-watered rapids. Be ready to be drenched.
For athletic tourists with plenty of time, there are some rubber boats for 5 or 6 people for the same route, which takes around 3 hours with the help of an instructor. Alternatively, you can take a 30-min cruise on a flat boat with engine or a 2-hour high-speed cruise on a hovercraft to enjoy cobalt-blue waters, sheer cliffs and strangely shaped rocks along the river.

Very beautiful river gorge, clean and clear water. Very limited parking close by so may have to walk a little ways. A few steps going down to the water so people with mobility challenges need to be aware of the steps.

Magnificent view. Although we just enjoyed the view from the riverside and from the bridge, there were people enjoying boating and kayaking.

We didn't get the earliest ferry due to bad water condition. Instead we took 11:30 ferry. The water was very clear, but the scene was a bit boring compared to river valley in Taiwan, not to mention all featured scenes were at the end of valley (in total 10 minutes ride), and then was the return trip.
