Arima Onsen is a small hot spring town in the north foot of Mr. Rokko. This spot is considered one of three oldest hot springs in Japan, other two being Shirahama (Wakayama Prefecture) and Dogo (Ehime Prefecture). The town in the central area has old buildings with small alleys and is dotted with several hotels, ryokan and public baths.
There are two public bathhouses popular with hikers. Gin-no-Yu features clear waters from carbonated spring, and Kin-no-Yu looks copper red with salty waters. Don't forget to bring a small towel.
