Matsukawa Gorge , Iwate Prefecture

Matsukawa Gorge (Matsukawa Keikoku) is the gorge stretches between Higashi Hachimantai and Matsukawa Hot Spring in Iwate prefecture. As the gorge is fringed by Japanese beach, oak and maple trees, you can enjoy seasonal beauty of the stream with fresh green leaves in early summer or with tinted leaves in autumn. Colored maple leaves around the Mori no Ohashi Bridge is a breathtaking view.
Mountain stream fishing is allowed from March to September.
