The observatory is the summit of Mt. Chausu, so there is no facility like an "observation deck", and the process is mountain climbing and hiking. It takes less than an hour (standard time 45 minutes) to climb from the Chausudake trailhead at Aspite Line Chausuguchi. The summit of Mt. Chausu is one of the three major observation points of Mt. Hachimantai along with Mt. Mokko and Gentamori, and it also has a triangular point. A magnificent view of Mt. Iwate to the south, and below you can see the sea of Abies sachalinensis, and crater lakes scattered in it. Jukai is the headwaters valley of the Yanuma River. It takes about 3 hours to walk from Mt. Chausu to Kuroyachi Marsh, Gentamori, Hachimantai and the summit of Mt. Hachimantai.

We can overlook Mt. Iwate, Hachimantai Aspire Line, and swamp.
The view is very good.
Although it takes time, I think it is easier to walk from the summit of Hachimantai to Mt. We recommend using the bus from Chausuguchi to return to the summit. Because the number of buses is small, attention to time is necessary.

About 1.5 km from the entrance of Chausu, a couple, a son of a junior high school student, and three people, it was not surprising how easy it was (let's go and see!). At first it was thought that it was a well-maintained climbing road (easy win), but it was expected that it would take a hour or so to climb on a steep slope of a rocky slope or a mud road where snow melting water flowed. I am impressed by the above beautiful scenery. You don't think so sweetly, so it's a perfect mountain climb, so have plenty of room and go with the perfect equipment.
There is also a road from the mountain hut to the top of Chausu mountain and a divided road from the top to the top of Hachimantai, and there is a guidance board.

If the weather is fine, you can see Mt. Chokai in the distance.
