The Osaka Castle Park is truly a gigantic oasis of the city. This park is about 100 hectares of green space, picturesque moats, huge stone walls, walkways lined with plum, apricot, cherry and maple trees, and carefully tended flowery gardens. It is very tranquil and clean, and is a good place to have family outing or weekend picnic. The castle's illumination at night is also fantastic.

It is recommended to spend at least half a day, whether or not you want to enter and climb the castle. It is quite a big park, accessible from several different stations. Don't forget to take a picnic rug and lunch with you !

Osaka Castle looks amazing. The design of the castle itself is stunning. The interior was great and the view from the top floor was jaw dropping. It gives you a nice 360 degree view of the city. The park and gardens were also magnificent. The boat ride tour was short but nice.

Amazing spot to visit! Be prepared to walk up some stairs but the history and view are amazing! 600 yen each entry for adults 15+. But younger children are free which is cool. You can get a cheaper ticket with the Osaka pass though.

Beautiful castle. Very well preserved with lots of things to see. A lovely view from the top. Some interesting information inside, but be prepared to walk up a lot of stairs...

Incredible gardens and castle, well worth a visit if you're in Osaka. Easy to get to and you can spend quite a lot of time wandering around the grounds if you like. There are train carts going around if you'd prefer not to walk. Be aware you need to have cash to enter some of the better buildings (like the castle).

Fun experience. It does get busy so it's best to go at non-peak times. About 8 or so floors. Lots of reading if you don't speak Japanese. Some really fun animation+diorama displays.

Please take a look at the pair of golden dolphin-like ornaments set on the roof. It is called “Shachi-hoko” It is believed that Shachi-hoko has a special power for preventing fire, although this Osaka castle has been burned down before...
