Osaka Castle Park4.7
The Osaka Castle Park is truly a gigantic oasis of the city. This park is about 100 hectares of green space, picturesque moats, huge stone walls, walkways lined with plum, apricot, cherry and maple trees, and carefully tended flowery gardens. It is very tranquil and clean, and is a good place to have family outing or weekend picnic. The castle's illumination at night is also fantastic.
It is recommended to spend at least half a day, whether or not you want to enter and climb the castle. It is quite a big park, accessible from several different stations. Don't forget to take a picnic rug and lunch with you !

Fantastic place to visit if you’re in Osaka. Recently it’s been getting busier and busier so getting a quiet photo can be a little bit of challenge. The castle is set not too far from the city. Surrounding the castle are beautiful well kept gardens. If you’re in Osaka it’s definitely a recommended place to visit. Recommended.

Gave Osaka Castle a top 5 Star rating as it's one of the very impressive and memorable castles that I'd ever seen in Japan. Despite hundreds of years, this castle is still well kept and maintained.
The Castle is huge and majestic. The architectural designs, both external and internal, is amazing and mind boggling.
Despite the hundreds of years, this Osaka Castle can still "entertain" the endless flow of tourists!!!

A nice little castle in the middle of Osaka. they had guys that spoke English in the information area which was great to get a little bit more knowledge. Lots of places to walk around and enjoy. Tons of amazing photo spots. They have quite a few little restaurants and shops in the area. A nice free outing if you are looking to get a little culture.

In a bustling city you'd never expect to come across an enchanted castle but beyond the moat walls is not just the Osaka castle but a world of serenity and beauty. There's rich history and it's not overwhelming with tourists as you'll find in Tokyo and Kyoto. The sunset is wonderful to watch along the walls but at sunset the castle and the forest comes alive with enchanting lights (tickets are required for the full lighting experience).

Our family traveled from Tokyo to Osaka to visit to Osaka Castle. I am a big history buff so the castle was amazing. The castle is close to the train so it was a short walk to the entrance. There are many shops and restaurants between the train station and the castle. I wish that there was more historical information available to explain historically significant sites and events. The whole family enjoyed the trip and we took many photos.

Please take a look at the pair of golden dolphin-like ornaments set on the roof. It is called “Shachi-hoko” It is believed that Shachi-hoko has a special power for preventing fire, although this Osaka castle has been burned down before...
