National Noh Theater3.7
This is a theater to watch the traditional stage performances, Noh and Kyogen, both designated as UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Property. Noh is a drama with dance, chorus and music, and comparable to a classic Greek tragedy in theme. The leading actors usually wear masks. Kyogen is a comedy with farce and slapstick used as an intermission between Noh acts.
Unlike Kabuki, which is usually played in a long run, the performance here is mostly of one-time event. Each seat has a small screen that can display the dialogue in English, Chinese and modern Japanese, and a pamphlet in each language is available.
