The Odaiba district, located in bright and bracing Tokyo Bay, is one of the most popular tourist spots in Japan. This man-made island provides natural beauty of the sea and greenery, together with shopping and entertainment experience. You will be amazed at the beauty of evening and night views here, and wonderfully immersed in the environment gently caressed by the sea breeze.

You will never miss a 115m-tall Ferris wheel at the Palette Town complex, Odaiba's symbolic landmark offering a sweeping view of the area. Visitors enjoy shipping at such malls as DiverCity and VenusFort, and take a glimpse of the Fuji TV building, which has a spherical-shaped observatory on the 25th floor, and drop in at the Daiba 1-chome Shopping Street that is a portal to a bygone Tokyo in 1950s. It is a good idea to conclude your tour at Odaiba by soaking your tired feet in the 'onsen theme park' called Oedo Onsen Monogatari.

For anime and manga fans, the Tokyo Big Sight convention hall hosts the 'Comic Market (Comiket)' twice a year, a world largest marketplace where individuals can present their own self-produced creations. One of the major attractions is the cosplay area, where girls and boys dress up as anime and manga characters. This is indeed a slice of the Japanese pop culture.

Daiba was the man-made islet built up by the Shogun Tokugawa to install the cannons for the defense of Edo city, the former name of Tokyo, against the potential threat from the outside countries. Therefore, Daiba symbolized the cannon fortress. Let us enjoy the modern as well as the old aspect of Odaiba.
