This large field with a pond in its center is where Kanjizaio-in Temple used to stand from 12th to 16th century. As was the case with nearby Motsuji Temple, a fire in the 16th century ravaged the whole architecture to ashes, and some foundations of gates and a bullock cart garage only remain today. The temple is believed to have served as a guest house receiving nobles from Kyoto.
