This sprawling park is famous for cherry blossom viewing and centered around the remains of Hirosaki Castle. A total of 3,000 overhanging cherry trees bloom around the castle moats and make numerous flowery tunnels. This is a pleasant spot for spring picnics.

The castle was erected in 1611 but burnt down only 16 years later due to lightning. The current three-story keep was built in the early 19th century.

Good walk from the station. Do not expect bit castle there. Just a keep. But the nature it is amazing. Must see place during Hanami

Beautiful castle park, no matter which season you go to visit. This time I visited during the spring sakura festival. Being the most popular festival and the trees usually reaching full bloom at the beginning of Golden Week, it was really crowded, but worth the trip!

A big area with cherry blossoms. This is the the largest area of cherry blossoms I have ever seen in Japan. Together with either the bridge, the river or the old building, it makes the pictures awesome and magificient!! You can spend at least half day there.

Visited late in the cherry blossom season but many still had blooms on them. A neat castle to visit any time of year
