At the end of uphill slope, this narrow tunnel allowing only one car to pass stretches in a sinister way. This tunnel on the border between Ishikawa and Toyama prefectures is famous for a mysterious Jizo statue in the middle of its passage. Rumor has it that the statue frequently changes posture - sometime headless or crippled. Some people claim to have seen it bleeding in its eyes.

Others claim that their cars got many handprints on the windscreen or that an apparition of an old lady was suddenly seated in their cars. Nobody knows whether the phonomenons are caused by a curse related to the Jizo statue or by roaming apparitions. Please be careful not to be involved in an accident if you drive through this tunnel.
