Aokigahara Jukai is a huge woodland sprawling at the foot of Mount Fuji. Rumor has it that, in this picturesque 'jukai', which translates as 'sea of trees', there are a slew of phantoms roaming in rage. In fact, this woodland is most known as a place of suicide in Japan. The number of suicides is so high that the police put up a multitude of signs telling passers-by to have a second thought.

Stories of spiritual phenomenon abound. Some people claim that they saw several apparitions clinging to them while being lost in this area. Surrounded by dense forests, you can easily lose the sense of direction, and lose control of yourself. Once you are off the beaten path, maybe it would be very difficult to come back to the original path, as there are many restless souls trying to tug you back into the deep of despair...
