Red Brick Warehouses4.1
The Red Brick Warehouses are a pair of historic landmark buildings in the Minato Mirai district of Yokohama. This is a very popular date spot, particularly after dark when the red-brick walls are atmospherically lit up and there is a marvelous night view of the port.
The Building No. 1 has a concert hall and art galleries, serving as a trend setter of cultural activities in Yokohama. In the Building No. 2, you can enjoy a huge variety of restaurants and unique boutiques. In between the two buildings is an open courtyard-like area, where a skating rink and a giant Christmas tree are set up in the winter season. In summer, you can have a wonderful time drinking beer!

Visited the Christmas market here filled with lively Christmas food stalls and seasons gifts. Fantastic Christmas atmosphere capped by the big Christmas tree with the pier in the background. Nice place to spend time shopping for gifts and quick bite and drink.

Yokohama is a wonderland just far enough away from the crowds of Tokyo to be considered quiet. And one of the iconic destinations of the port city is this Red Brick Warehouse. Where the pragmatism of yesterday meets the trend of modern day. Housed in a quaint old building - as one might suspect from the babe - is this quaint shopping centre, complete with food court on the ground floor. Speciality shops selling unique, made in Japan souvenirs and even better the Yokohama souvenir. A keepsake from a unique city. My Darumae has only one eye and I'll fill it in when I get back.

A must go. If you find yourself in the Yokohama area is an excellent place to spend your time. Is not expensive, and you get to see the history of noodles. While in the museum, you can make your own ramen and even try noodles from different Asian countries.

Still in Minato Mirai area, 10 minutes walking from The Cup Noodle Museum, you'll meet The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. It's a historical building that is used as a complex of shopping mall, banquet hall, and event venue. These 2 buildings used to be the custom buildings for Yokohama port.
The shopping mall offers so many cute things such as fashion things, organic products, special gifts from Yokohama, and glass craft. They're also tax free!

But, my recommend is to approach from sea! You can get on board "Sea Bus" from Bay Quater Yokohama or Minato-Mirai. This short ship trip is very comfortable and you can find another "face" of this bay town.
