This museum hosts the Japanese and other Asian pre-modern arts collected by the industrialist Nezu Kaichiro (1860-1940). It comprises about 7,400 objects that include 7 items of National Treasures, 87 Important Cultural Properties, and 94 works registered as Important Art Objects.

In addition to the exhibits, there are a spacious garden to stroll and several tea houses to enjoy Japanese tea and confectionery. This is an urban oasis to soak in beautiful seasonal changes in quietude.
