Lake Towada4.2
Lake Towada is the largest crater lake in the Honshu main island. Development around the lake remains sparse with beech and birch forests providing the habitats for eagles and bears. The best way to see the lake is by sightseeing boats departing from Yasumiya, the main tourist hub, and Nenokuchi where a river steaming out. Along this river, Oirase-gawa, are the hiking trails very popular during the autumn foliage season.

I visited after last year, but there are few souvenirs that are open, and the parking lot is filled only about 1/5 of the usual year when it is near full. It may be good for securing a social distance and sightseeing.

A mysterious caldera lake that spans both Akita and Aomori prefectures. The view from the shipyard is amazing.

First, at Towada Lake, I was surprised by the size
But since I do not know the whole, I can reconfirm how big it is if I look from the top of the mountain in the surroundings
