"Oarai Sun Beach" in Ibaraki Prefecture is the most popular beach in Ibaraki, and the biggest beach in Kanto area.
Oarai Sun Beach is popular for its clear, wide, and shallow waters, and also known as a ‘Universal Beach’, meaning it is accessible for wheelchair users and other people with limited mobility.
During the opening period of the beach, you can have a barbecue at the barbecue area and rent boats for marine sports and parasols.

In addition, the Kamiiso-no-Torii Gate at Oarai Isosaki Shrine on the Oarai Beach, is known as a perfect sunrise spot, and the shrine is also famous as one of Kanto's representative power spots.

Nice beach to unwind. May get crowded during peak season. But due to corona, all parking is closed thus few people is present. Lots of live clams to dig and other sea creatures. Seagulls tend ti steal food on unattended belongings.
