Koganei Park is on the western outskirts of Tokyo and covers an area of 77 hectares. The park has 1,800 cherry trees and is a well-known spot for viewing cherry blossoms in spring. A major part of the forest is protected as bird sanctuary, and you will have a peaceful moment with a variety of song birds.

There are recreational facilities for rental bikes, barbecue, dog runs and archery. For those interested in playing tennis, no less than 16 courts are available.

In the western part of the park lies the Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum that preserves and displays a multitude of buildings with historical and cultural values.
